Came before WoW, one of the best MMORPG's I've played.  You play as a super hero and fight villain butt!  You can group with up to 8 other dudes and "kill" people (they actually get teleported to a prison or something).  The action is crazy somewhat.  The mobs can get quite large and that action shot shows how hectic it can get.  It's PvE and PvP.

Whoa it's older than WoW?  :o
Anyways it sounds like a fun game...as for Guild Wars: It's a PvP oriented MMORPG. It's a fun game, but it lacks content....PvP is fun and good, but it can be boring after a period.

City of Heroes is special because there is no inventory, the only thing you can vaguely call inventory is the enhancements, which just boost your powers.  There's some little doodads you can mess with, but there isn't potions or any fantasy stuff.  Doesn't seem like anyone here plays, oh well.

Hey Toony Man. I just realized.

You don't have a theme song, you need one. Like, right NOW.

Toonyman, Toony,
Does whatever a loony can
Kills your brain, with his lies,
Before him undead legions rise.
Look Out!
Here comes the Toonyman.

Is he strong?
Listen dude,
He'll turn you into cat food.
Can he bake a loaf of bread?
No, but he will eat your head.
Hey, there
There goes the Toonyman.

In the bright of the day
Heroes look forth with dismay
Like a streak of light
He just started up a fight.

Toonyman, Toonyman
Friendly neighborhood Toonyman
Spite and hate,
He ingnores
Insanity is his reward.

To him, life is a great big sandwich
Whenever you make a manwich,
You'll find the Toonyman.

I used to play City of Heroes.  "Used to" meaning about six weeks before I let my account die.  I was much more a fan Villains, because they could actually solo.  Had a pretty good level 14ish Mastermind and a solid Stalker.  My account is still there of course, so I could reactivate them.

Meh, level 14 you see nothing!  It gets real good when you reach 30.  The task force get sweet.  They're the funniest part.

EDIT:  Also, solo?!  The best experience is from 8-person teams!

Click my name, look under gender. Think for a bit...

Yeah, let's not derail another topic with this.

Hey, how much is CoH or CoV per month? I might be able to support it with the right job.

A measly $15.  I'm not forcing anybody to play this, just typing.

$15 a month, though it is slightly cheaper if you sign up for multiple months at once (not that big of a difference).

Anyway, I was never big into pick-up teams in any multiplayer game, but my team of friends rocked.

It looks like that this 15$ subscription fee is pretty common amongst the MMORPGs. WoW's subs. fee is also ~15$ / month.
