I looked at your work...you really should get some 3d experience with the objects you are creating, mostly because your star destroyer is horrible...to my eyes...it looks like flying banta-poodo....cough...can create better....MUST.....for you?.....

Explosions, especially animated, are tricky to make. But it'll be a good learning experience! So go for it. :)
I'm sure... To be honest i haven't really thought about where to begin...

:D :D I'm sure i could do a better Star Destroyer, that was just a quick-and-dirty model so the laser cannon'd have sonething to shoot at, and that was a fairly simple shape. The death Star was added on a whim when i showed the scene to my sister.

In my defense, i was mostly focusing on the particles/laser bolts.

Looks cool, but what is it? a lo-res gorilla? And how/why does the horizon curve up?

wow... the only negative thing i can say it to point out that it's feet went into the floor a time or two...

How long'd that take to make?

thats not the horizon...that is a dune edge above the horizon due to point of view....and its a robotic man-ish thing curled into a ball kinda...lets see you do that...

also that is just four peices not including the camera or lighting... mostly because dynamic lighting takes more than five minutes.

Also I am working on some comprehensive work....very hushity hush.

SolarShado: yeah, preventing minor foot intersections with the ground isn't really feasible without a lot of work.

As I said, it took most of a day to model, rig, and animate it. The animation itself took a bit under 2 hours to render.

So it's like there is a sand dune situated at each side of the frame? I was just wondering why the "horizon"  in the picture curved upward instead of down. And i wasn't criticizing "your robotic man-ish thing", just inquiring as to what it was.

@Derakon: Probably a noobish suggestion, but mightn't the floor constraint help? I've tinkered with constraints a bit, really just enough to know that they're a pain to set up. And wow... 2 hours to render.... you are more patient than i...

The model and the animation are awesome dude!  (it's true that it's "feet" go below the floor but it's really cool nevertheless)
