I can understand the not wanting to do harm in any game actually...
I mean, when I used to play Fable: The Lost Chapters, I would never do evil in that game, never. I didn't have the heart to kill innocents.
However, that was before I got exposed to shock sites, ForumWarz, and guro. Now, I suddenly want to kill things for no reason in Elona, and I now laugh at said shock sites.
I still cringe though, when I accidentially kill a cat or something in Elona, on accident.
Then again, artificial life, whether it is intelligent or not, still has a right to live in my opinion. That includes all the sprites and characters in every video game ever made, because it is artificial, programmed to act a certain way, and lives in it's own little world.
So yeah, I can understand not wanting to kill something that is alive in it's own little way. Killing things causes insanity, and many gamers are pretty weird.
And yes, I know, they are bits of code and pixel, but they are "alive" too.
Yet, that makes it their right to die as well. All things must die after all, due to a fact that immortality is non-existant in this reality. So yes, it is alright to go around killing artificial life.
And yet, it is not.
...
Sorry, I got only four hours sleep last night, and am feeling pretty philosophical. I blame Elona.
