Rock in Spanish. Too many to list tho... a search for "rock in spanish" should give plenty.

Outside of a guy in college from Aberdeen, you're the first person I know to have heard of Dr. Bombay.  I'd have to recommend it too, if you can find it.  It's fast paced, very silly, and extremely catchy. 

Counting the guy from Aberdeen, you're the only three people I've ever known who heard of Dr. Bombay, besides the Finnish guy who introduced me to that wackiness, back in 2000.  We are talking the same Dr. Bombay right?  "Tiger ate my family" and so forth?

I'm roughly a minute into my first Dr. Bombay song (Rice and Curry) and all I have to say is  :o.

It's catchy. One of the comments said he's Danish. Granted, I don't know much about people overseas, but I thought he looked and sounded Indian or something. What do you know? Wikipedia pulls through for me. He's Swedish, but plays the part of an Indian cab driver.

I know what you mean.

When the singer says "run, run" I get shivers all down my back, and the last line makes me want to cry.

I guess it's because I'm like the cat in the song.

If you wanna try some Brazilian music:

Legião Urbana (everything is great "Pais e Filhos" is the best one)
Cazuza (I'd recommend "O Tempo não para")
Raul Seixas (try "Al Capone" or "Sociedade Alternativa")

All those songs have very very nice lyrics and if you have any interest I could translate them to you. These songs are like a pop-rock or rock.
Also, all those artists were related in freeing Brazil from the military dictature (?) that started in 1964 and ended in 1985.

Legião Urbana's singer, the most important guy in the band, was Renato Russo. He died of AIDS in 1996.
Cazuza also died of AIDS in 1990.
Raul Seixas (a.k.a. Raulzito or Maluco Beleza) died of a heart attack because of alcoholism in 1989.

Rest in peace.

Joao Gilberto... Try the album Getz/Gilberto. Real laid back guitar and smooth jazz. If you feel like just instrumental try some sitar music from Ravi Shankar or something.
