One new enemy I forgot to show off...
Walk around the desert, you'll run into the same weak desert monsters you've run into before, but there's a chance that you'll run into...
FossilFang! This guy is the strongest enemy we can run into around here. IIRC, he has a powerful MT (mult-target) attack that will leave your whole party dead, or heavily wounded and blind.
Noiseblaster still castrates the difficulty though. Fire attacks, an element only accessibly by Ultim (Templar rage) or Boksi (Fire Dance), will easily dispose of him.
Time to go into Kohlingen, where I will show you that cutscenes just don't work in picture format.
Go into this house, and Aqizar flies into a tirade about something or other.
"Into dangerous caves unprepared my dearest!"
It's implied that I'm pushing you!
It's implied that I'm falling to my doom as a consequence!
"That was the fastest rescue ever heh Rach? Aren't I the coolest?"
"Who are you?"
"Your fiance' dumb tits! Atleast, it's heavily implied that we are engaged!"
"Daddy, please make the strange man go away."
"Say what now!?"
"Hey, how was I supposed to know that an inexperienced young girl in a long skirt wouldn't fair well in a spelunking slash treasure hunting adventure?!"
Anyway, flash back ends, and Aqizar feels bad that the love of his life got terminally injured in an attack by the empire after he left at her parent's behest.
Anywho...
Sack Rachel's old home and steal the elixir she was stashing away, we'll put it to better use than she did.
Also, go behind this house and...
Find another green beret! These things are pretty sweet, so I'll put it on Myroc.
Go through the front door of the same house, and go downstairs...
To find Rachel's comatose body! Sweet! Jam her into the inventory, and Aqizar can still adventure with her Uncle Bernie style!
Nah, it won't let us do that, but Aqizar is quite forlorn that there is apparently no way to bring her out of her vegetative state. I'm sure we'll never find anything to close up this loose end.
Another thing of interest that you guys were hinting at...
Here's Inaluc, he's muted though, so he won't talk to us...
Well, he WOULD join up with us, if we had only selected 3 people, and we paid him 3000 gil. Even then though, there's a chance of him leaving us at the end of every battle.
Another thing of interest, not pictured, is the weapon shop, which is selling a wider variety of skeans, throwables reserved for Inaluc's use. They have elemental ones which are actually the most powerful elemental attacks we have at the moment. Unfortunately, they're WAY too expensive to buy in any appreciable amount. 500 gil a pop, yikes. We'll wait until our cash flow is a bit more substantial before stocking up on those.
Alright, enough wasting time, Southwards! To the next town!
Let's roam around in these forests first though...
NEW MONSTERS!
The nothing special really, the bees can put you to sleep, and you can steal softs from them, but other than that, just fodder.
MORE NEW MONSTERS!
Like the brawlers before, you can steal head bands from these guys. I actually got one too, on my first try! I'm putting that on Aqizar, gives a marginal boost in speed and attack power.
The next town! What awaits our heroes? Will anyone notice that only about 5 minutes of gametime passed between this update, and the previous one?
Find out next time on Josh's FFVI LP: Action! PERHAPS!
If anyone wants to see the other important, character developing sequences I'm skipping, just clamor a bit and I'll go back to Narshe and switch around my characters (as it's possible to do that) so I can get the necessary characters to get the sequences.
