There was a monster in between Ghastly and Gengar. Some intermediate form. I remember it because it was in my Pokemon Card game deck and it was the only card that can put monsters to sleep. If you can remember that monster, please spritify it.

I briefly toyed with the idea of making a pokemon roguelike but then realized that I'd have to learn to program and the most complicated program I've made thus far is a car mileage calculator. (whoohoo!)

Also, for all those with the shame of liking this phenomenon, I'm with ya, but you have to admit the game mechanics can be pretty damn deep at times.

Incidentally, those look pretty professional. Nice spritework, for my above idea I was just gonna go around that there internet thieving for no-profit. I think that might be legal.

So, that first one is some kind of unholy blending of Magmar and whatever that psychic bird is.  I stopped learning their names after the first 151.

Isn't there already a Pokémon roguelike? One of the Mysterious Dungeon series?

I've always like Pokemon. The games are a great way to fritter away time on a portable device.

Mind you, my simulation of the ultimate move combonation might get a little excessive, but using Psychic is control masive amounts of flames seems to be a good idea.

Yeah, but that one costs money, which I wasn't gonna shell out, also my plan was to have it be a bit more violent and have more direct interaction. Who didn't want to beat the ever loving crap out of a pikachu with a stick. Also, one strategy would have been to simply beat up an opposing trainer and then rob them. Sadly, I was sidetracked and didn't know if there were legal concerns.

There are illegal Pokemon MMORPGs out there. There are also illegal Pokemon ROM hacks, some of which were LPed on the Let's Play website. Maybe there may be illegal rougelikes out there too.

I think it would be legal if you made a PARDOY of Pokemon, and then do that for your roguelike. Cthulumon for instance? All you have to do is make your own monsters that look only sorta like Pokemon...
