I hate all anime. But there's only one that I have ever watched. I liked it for the mild humor. But for every bit of humor there's 500 more bits of "WTF PHYSICS!" and "WTF SCIENCE!" and "WTF IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!" and "WTF WHY CAN'T YOU JUST DO *Something they could do instead of what they are doing.*!"

So yeah. Avatar. The last airbender.

I hate anime, too. Just because everyone's so obsessed with it. But Avatar... I love that. Brilliantly drawn and a great plot, but you shouldn't believe anything I say about plots.

"Fist of the North Star" can be basically summed up as, people punching each other until they explode. It wasn't bad.

I'm not a huge anime fan myself. It's something I keep coming back to but generally feel underwhelmed by. "Spirited Away" was good. The TV series "Cowboy Bebop" was excellent and well worth buying the complete set.

It seems that a lot of people must like "Ghost in the Shell" because I keep hearing it in reference, but I found the movie boring and incomprehensible.

Berserk, it's the manliest show you'll ever watch.

It depends on what you're interested in.

Like action/drama? Go with Cowboy Bebop.
Humor? I recommend Full Metal Panic 2: Fumoffu!
Badass historical fiction / sword action? Samurai X (Trust and Betrayal, not "Samurai X: The Movie") -- it's the prequel to the series "Ruroni Kenshin" but once you've seen Samurai X you're totally ruined for the series. They're nothing alike.
Slavic mythology? Spirited Away.
Touching warm "feel-good movie of the summer?" Anything by Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service... well, Princess Mononoke is more action)
Psychedelic essay on the shifting boundaries of the intersection between the "real world" and the internet? Serial Experiments: Lain

Serial Experiments: Lain is kinda like the Matrix without the action. Kinda. So if you liked the Matrix for anything besides the Kung-Fu and gunplay, you might enjoy SE:Lain.

I care not what people think: I liked that show. Well, at the beginning. Then the main character started to get angsty and the main antihero got progressively more awesome. I started to loose hope in the series, then the theater episode came out.
And I was in love again.

You hate ALL anime?
Have you taken a large enough sample size to make a generalization of the genre? Have you taken in account Sturgeon's law? If you give me a list of animes you have seen and hated, I can steer you towards better choices.

I hate Anime because of Sturgeon's law.

In that case, you should hate everything because of Sturgeon's law, because it doesn't just apply to anime.

Berserk, it's the manliest show you'll ever watch.
I turned away when the naked muscular men started splashing water at each other.

That only happens once, and it's meant to be foreshadowing something later on in the series.

I hate anime, too. Just because everyone's so obsessed with it.

That is a stupid reason to hate anything.

So many people go by the principle that if a large group of people like something, it must be crap, while in reality that may not be true.

For example, in music, if something is "mainstream", people hate it just because it is popular and instead look for underground or obscure bands and then rant on-and-on about how terrible those other bands are, and how great these ones are.

To truly tell if something is good, you have to have an unbiased view and take more than a short glance at it.

But of course, this is all off topic.

A good anime to watch...hmm... you could try Black Cat.
Lots of explosions and fighting.

I've never come upon a person who says they hate anime that's watched more than Dragonball Z, Sailor moon or Naruto and too be honest those are all sub-par and kinda kiddie plot wise.

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.

I've watched Bleach, Beserk, and that wierd-ass frog show that SJ likes. I have never watched Naruto and do not want to. I still don't like anime. (Well maybe Mulan, but that wasn't anime, really. Just cartoony.)
