Tourist traps - How to dispose of immigrants

I've been pondering, but I just can't seem to think of a reliable way to dispose of my cheesemakers, lyemakers and other useless ones. I don't want to recruit them and send them on suicide missions; I want to somehow kill them at my temple to Armok.

How do you do it? Any tips for me?

Build bridge walkway on the top of your tower.

Recruit them, put them on the bridge.

Retract it, sending them flying into the air ... those who survive the fall somehow (landing on trees, buildings or animals) have been favored by armok and will live. Those who die will have their bones desecrated! IT IS THE WILL OF ARMOK!

This is amazing. I'm thinking of putting a Many Z-level PIT in the middle of my temple..

Now, how to intelligently channel..

If you don't want to deal with the hassle of cleaning up the migrant's clothes then you could always build an atom smasher.
You build a bridge (non-retracting) and hook it up to a lever. You then raise the bridge and recruit the migrants to stand under the bridge (this works best with a large bridge, I'd say at least 5x5.) When you pull the lever again it destroys everything under the bridge, it also doesn't leave any pools of blood (not sure if that's a pro or a con).
If you set it up at a choke point it could also double as a defensive measure against invaders.

Basically? Take it one level at a time. Channel it and try to prevent the dorfs from mining out ledges they can't reach. The miners can and will dig the ground out from under eachothers feet and they will fall, best make it a soft fall and not adjust level -3 when level -456 has just been completed. I don't think the miner would survive that fall.

Unless you WANT ledges. You can fantasize they are the well crafted hands of armok sticking out of the walls to catch those he deems worthy.

OK, so I'm going to build my temple, build a pit underneath it that leads down about 2-3 Z-levels, put only 7/7 magma on the bottom floor of the pit BUUUUT then I'm going to make a Fuckheug bridge, and order all the migrant-cruits to GUARD THE BRIDGE FROM ANY ELVES THAT MAY SOMEHOW GET THERE.

I saw a cheesy B-movie lately where they tossed in sacrifices down a pit to a large maze to be devoured by a minotaur, that empire's living god. I instantly thought of Dwarf Fortress and making a fort built over a cave.

If you could capture something horrible enough you could sacrifice your migrants to an actual megabeast or something like it, you know. Send them to try to wrassle the Titan in it's sealed throne room or to that dragon in his den under your fortress.

That would be "minotaur" then? That movie was good ... in the beginning then it turned into utter shit.
I agree though that's a cool concept. One I might utilize as I have spotted a wild troll on my map... it's extra fun since he can actually find his way out of the labyrinth! ... I hope his pathfinding isn't as good as the dorfs, they always know the path out after all.
