Questions on Only in Death

Has anyone read Dan Abnett's book "Only in Death"?

I have some questions about it, because there are some parts I didn't understand.

1)What were the aliens in the house before the Ghosts got there? I think it never says..or i missed it.

2)Why did only Maggs see the vision that Soric sent?(Until the end, he is the only one that sees her)

3)What was with the daemon worm the trooper kept hearing? Was it just to get him to get the book?
