Once tried to conquer Earth, and succeeded! Too bad it got really, really boring, really, really fast.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

Sorry for the wait, I haven't been able to get to the computer.

I REQUIRE AN UPDATE.

Oh, YOU'LL get an update soon enough... heh heh...

Needless to say, the battle was short, swift, and decisive.  The Dark City has fallen to the Scavenger King.   Again.

John makes his way over to the center of the city.  He has finally reached the tower, where the door that was once closed by the Dreams of Industry has been opened once more.

Runaway:  "You can't leave now!  The people of the city need a ruler!  They are suffering from the withdrawal of their "medicine".  I know that angel guy you told me about told you to get out of this reality, but you can't just leave them... us here!  Who will guard the Medicated City?  None of the mindlings here have any sort of combat experience!  The birds could come back!"

Crown her scavenger Queen. The scythe implies she does have combat abilities. Bestow upon her the power and responsibility of training the population, and to teach them to find happiness within themselves.

Then kiss her, and enter the tower.

Yes, throw the job on someone else! Or... You have your prescription? Take it.
Edit: Wait, did scratches tell us to leave this reality? I don't remember that.

But first, you must leave Tock behind.  And to do so, you must get to the Nameless Tower.

Let's assume they did that before he goes to the black tower.  He did tell her about Scratches, after all...

Look at your inventory. Optionally, eat it all.

There is nothing in your inventory.  It seems that some things are unwilling to teleport, or teleport correctly.  Your hat has been replaced.  Angel looks happy to see you.

Rush to Angel and hug him

"Oh Angel, I'm so sorry..."

Cry.

John approaches Angel, who grins even wider.

Angel starts to sing a song.

"In darkness rests something concealed inside,
We all must go into the glade to die!
Within your soul go see what there reside,
To what you once believed whisper goodbye!

In the end of my life I did find him,
And the lost god of dreams beckoned to me.
For once fear could replace a foolish whim;
By sheer instinct I could then clearly see.

Beware your fate, the Guide must not be sought,
He lies and tricks and takes the light from dark.
Beware yourself, lest all be wrought to nought,
And all that stays are scratches in the bark.
You've all to lose, yet still you risk your mind,
You've none to win:  Don't seek what you can't find."

I don't think he's very interested in debating existentialism.

You shouldn't have left her, ever.

Now RUN! Run and do not look back!
