Alright, look who looks badass. Nice going John. Time to find an excuse for another evil act.

Oh, that reminds me. Where are your rat minions? Surely they can aid you in the quest of conquering the world.

Maybe this is your second chance. You should try to do better than you think you did last time.

Code: [Select]
Apples advice might have seem'd cryptic. But it wasnt really.
There is a mention of loops, recursion, and a posibility of redemption.
We draw the conclution that the workings of timetravel is computational,
the past can be changed, and there is a single timeline that "changes" in  a second,
non traversible time dimention.
In short, you dont HAVE to burn the world, and if you avoid burning it,
it will never have been burned in the first place.
The problem is, then you woldn't know not to, and we get a grandfather paradox.
What we need to do, is figure out a way to exit the loop, some kind of third option maybe?
Be on your guard, and don't do random things for little reason, you must try to get as much
information as possible while changing the world around you as little as possible.

(OOC note: I'm just throwing something semi-plausible out, I Didn't Do the Research.)

(Grandfather paradoxes are overrated. Going back in time and killing your parent/grandparent/whatever is not going to end the universe.
You go back in time. Ok, now you're in the past. You have not been born yet
You kill your grandfather. Ok, you're still in the past. You have not and will never be born. Big woop.
You live happily ever after.

But that's only in our conventional (+ the ability to travel through) understanding of time.
With john's world things look a little different.)

*ring ring*
Hey, John. May I first say that that demonic eye crown looks spiffing? You can crush the world in style now, oh yeah!
Anyway...
I was thinking. If you're going in a loop through time, seeing as you haven't met yourself you're probably going to die, so common sense is right, you should get out of here ASAP. However! If you have been here before there may be notes from you to you. For example, I espy a note labled 'Tock' behind yonder painting. Why not take a gander?
*cough cough cough*
I'm sorry John, I appear to be coming down with ye old old posh english fellow disease.
Well, bye now. Get better soon!

(Well, there are several theories, and the results are different in each of them, the one I proposed the john's world worked by and the one you described is mostly the same theory, so it'd be as you say. And yea, they are overrated, but in this case one WOULD happen, and it'd still be an annoyance. )

Great Scott that was a brilliant idea, John! Simply smashing HAT you have now!

*Tea Sip.* There's something peculiar about that painting, John, and it's not the dancing pixies. No, there's something behind that painting, John, and we need to get it. Verily!

In my opinion i think that changing the past is impossible. If someone from the present goes back into the past and changes something major, it will still remain exactly the same, since the time-traveler did so in the past.

But let us not banter about chronological traversing theories. Onward and upward, let's find your rat minions and do something evil.

(In the event that we CAN change the past, i still suggest that we remain evil. Alright, perhaps no world-burning, but world-conquest, perhaps?)

Aren't we supposed to be the Chosen One of Shroomland?

Why not go there?

(just time travel and tell yourself, HEY FUCKER DON'T BURN THE FUCKING WORLD... or we send maybe an agent... some sort of... apple back... with knowledge of the future... and 3 teeth.)

(Um...did we actually "burn" the world?

All He did was dance. Right?)

It seems to be a torn-up note!

Unfortunately, all it provides you with is a healthy dose of foreshadowing.

The portrait seems to have changed again...

EDIT:
To answer a few questions:
Aren't we supposed to be the Chosen One of Shroomland?

Why not go there?
It is mighty difficult to get to Shroomland.

Alright, look who looks badass. Nice going John. Time to find an excuse for another evil act.

Oh, that reminds me. Where are your rat minions? Surely they can aid you in the quest of conquering the world.

In order to summon the rats, you must Dance.

Thanks for all the comments, guys.  It is through your suggestions that the story gets shaped.

EDIT2:
Inventory:
  • Demonic Eye Hat (Abilities unknown)
  • Scissors (Abilities unknown)
  • Apple (2 unused advice teeth)
  • Mysterious torn note
  • Prescription (Daily pill taken)

what actually happened to the used advice teeth? I mean, if it were simply some sort of bribe to apple, then the three he had when we meet him first wouldnt resaonably count right? Is the tooth depleted but still there? did it go up in nothingness? did apple swallow it?

Ummmm....

Yeah.  The apple swallowed it.

I like to think about it as a pure conversion between tooth and advice.

Maybe the rats can give us a bit more clue to what is going on.

Start dancing.
