Bah, too much random, not enough thinking!
What we have to consider is the motives of Past-Angel-Sophia.
What do we know?
Firstly, it should be obvious she is aligned with the force symbolized by the triangle eye. It is one of three recurring symbols which would seem to symbolize three forces in this world, the other two being the handless clock of tock and the crazy happy face of GleeJoy. They are linked in some way, how I don't know yet.
I would say we know the least about the handless clock. But what matters most now is the triangle eye. I believe it to represent the forces of Belief. The handless clock mentioned how scavenger had attempted to rebel, I suspect against Belief, but that he failed, and that he was God once, but since his rebellion failed, he is no longer. We know the Angels are servants of this side. Angel himself, and Past-Angel-Sophia.
So her motives are the motives of Belief.
But we know she wants someone killed.
A boy.
John.
He rebelled against Belief. She serves Belief. She wants John dead.
I don't want John dead.
Also, he may be considered dead here, but as far as I can see, Sophia only believes this because GleeJoy told her so.
Do you want to trust GleeJoy?
I sure as hell don't.
Also remember the title of part 2.
Part Two: An interlude in the Greylands
The
Greylands.
They were mentioned before, but not as where John is now. He may appear to be dead there, but they are not the only place in existence.
And don't forget recursion, John's recursion is far too important to the story to ignore.
John isn't truly dead, he's out there, somewhere.
She wants Sophia to kill John. But to what end? What about the fractal recursion bit? I suspect this means recursion inside recursion. But how? I don't know yet. I don't like this Past-Angel-Sophia. Not one bit.
>Sophia: Trust the Boy. The Angel thing does not have your best interests in mind. It may have your past interests in mind, but now your current ones. You most likely want to ally yourself with the one the angel wants you to kill. But for now comfort the kid. Tell the Angel thing to get out! You don't need other yous to make your decisions for you! You can do this without them! Just who the Hell do you think you are? You're Sophia! You're you! No one else! Not angel you! Yourself! Believe in yourself!
As to the Rainbow Snail: No! NONONONONONONONO!!!!!! It is your enemy, and most likely the greatest enemy you will ever face! I would consider confronting it until you can be sure of defeating it.
Which we can't be sure of.
So don't do that.
