Actually if you read the last part, Angel, as was his name, never calmed down.  He was killed by another angel who has a similar appearance and the same name.  That's the Angel that we're friends with now.  The other Angel that died was once friends with us, but we betrayed him, burnt him and made him all ugly looking.  It is implied that he once saved us from a monster that looked similar to him and had the same name.  Did I mention recursion?

Yes, he was the theory that was driven out of Tock.  Then Runaway destroyed the GleeJoy Industries branch that was sponsoring him during the intermission.
