Finally. I have my preferred means of communications back. That "computer" thing was such a hassle. Now listen to me John. this boy "Pier" seems to bear many scars of past battles and you would probably benefit from his elderly wisdom. it looks like war has already destroyed the other boy next to you. Do not trust that man John. things are not what they seem here. now i think you can escape and i think i can guide you. We need more information though! the best path to defeating your enemy is knowing your enemy. introduce yourself to the boy next to you and ask just what this place is. you should also ask what happened to the other boy. for now i don't think we should consume anything in here as opposed to what my companion said. consume nothing, and carry on with your interrogation of this boy.

john, ask this boy who these "keepers are*. then ask him why it would be bad to be cured. also tell him about your dreams in a fashion that least gives the feeling you are a nuthouse. you have yt to ask what that boy who says he isn't broken is about. also ask about the kid with the eye-patch

John:  "Who are the keepers?"

Pier:  "The keepers are our old friends here.  The doctors.  The guards.  They are here to make sure we behave."

John:  "Then what's so bad about being cured?"

Pier *glaring slightly at nothing* :  "Haven't you read the signs?  They want us to be happy.  To be normal.  To stop interrupting everyone's perfect lives.  To stop crying at the sound of the clock.  To stop choking on the factory fumes, and consume them like everyone else."

John:  "I...I dreamt last night.  About a field of bodies."

Pier:  "Yes.  They are called the Badlands.  I would rather not return, but we all must, sooner or later...

break all the pills in half except the green. stow the green pill and 1 each of the pill halves away for later use.

hey, wait a minute john. why would they give YOU a pill that makes THEM sleep? awful suspicious if you ask me. ask this boy about that.

hey wait a few more minutes john. you should ask this boy about the clock that was hanging around that birds neck. and if there is any noticeable pattern that the keepers switch the pills around in.
