Did anybody else see the word "run" on the wall when John woke up? I think the rats have bad plans for John, and he has something to protect him from attacking hallucinations. The foreshadowing is strong in this game, but it's rather difficult to tell what is being foreshadowed.

John? Get advice from the apple. Don't attack the rats. You cannot win against them.

The pills only protect against hallicuation attacks.

It provides you immunity from attacking rats, but it will not get rid of the rats themselves.

Not going to provide any advice, just letting you get prepared.
