Yeah, but there have to be limits to powers. You can't just buff your fireball power to insane levels and solve everything with fireballs. I mean, that's the entire point of having multiple skills. What good is having both fireball and invisibility or whatnot when you can say "use fireball to make self invisible" and make fireball omnipotent?

My way of dealing with that would be to cap it early on and only allow advancement via quests and achievements (difficult ones) and stuff like that. But really, my main means of dealing with it would be throwing a giant monster immune to fireballs at them, to teach them a lesson the hard way.

Shadow, there are a number of things wrong with your plan.
Firstly, he'll probably fail, since he's doing something, and since nobody has a Effect-Vulnerability power.
Secondly, even if he doesn't fail, he won't be able to do what he was doing before, which will presumably be bad for you.
Thirdly, you might fail.
Fourthly, even if you don't fail and he doesn't either, he'll just make you vulnerable to air and have you corrode on contact or something.
Fifthly, you might be alone.
Sixthly, even if everything turns out well, you'll just end up wasting your turn. You'll essentially use your turn to force your teammate to do what schle was going to do anyway.
Seventhly, even if you somehow pass all these barriers, I'll auto-fail you. So there.
