Oh, and the ideal is to use no bombs, of course. ;)
That's actually how I manage to play. Believe it or not, I made it to the boss of level 2 sans bombing. On Lunatic. Holy crap is that hard.

And I keep forgetting that every death resupplies your bombs. Which does hinder EX chances every time I do that.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Nightmare Fuel.
I think her attacks are more fearsome. It looks like she just wants to play in this pic.

Soon enough Flan. Just be patient.

Nightmare Fuel.

You obviously haven't seen some of the pictures of Eirin experimenting on Reisen Clones and Mokou.
And then there's EX Rumia...

Anywho, anyone got a link to Touhou Soccer? I wanna give it a try too.
Is it free or did I miss it along with the last Reiseitai?

Ehm.

Doujinstyle has them all.

Yes. Them all.
ALL OF THEM.

Edit: Shit. This guy makes good arranges. But no one saw them yet...

I won't include the UN Owen remix because it's now unofficially hold the world records for the most remixed song EVAR.

What about Mimiku? He/She had awesome ones. I really liked Ancient Temple Arrange 5 and Old World Arrange 3.
But then the account got deleted...

At least the EWI remixes are still up.

Ehm.

Well, I'm unsure if even they have the one with those pictures I speaking about, due to EXTREME goretastic insanity...
Like that scene where Mokou was thrown into a pit of Eirin's festering failed experiments .
The first time I saw that, I couldn't bear to even delete it off my computer, I just buried it in a folder in a folder in a folder and never touched it again.

Now since I've got a tougher stomach for these things, I want to see if I can take it, but a hard-drive reset got rid of it, oh well.

Actually, that Flan pic is awesome. Not particularily nightmaretastic, just very in-character. :)

The art for Scarlet Symphony is really nice.
Ugh, but I'm having problems patching the game to the new version.

Ok, it took until fall break but here is Marisa A in PCB LUNATIC w/ default lives making it not just past Miss White (as has been noted as unlikely for y'all,) but Miss Chen. If I had used bombs at times they would have saved me instead of times I was just worried I wouldn't move right I would have had a significant fight with Lady Alice.

Ironically Chen's nineball type attacks are just as much trouble for me back on hard difficulty...

The lack of having anything to say about Touhou once I posted a replay disheartens me :'(

Well, sorry. But I don't have time to watch a replay yet.
Touhou Pianoforte is awesome.

Also, StB, anyone?

Quite a bit really. When you do well in that it doesn't last very long though so it's hard to pick your replays.

Everyone sucks at Touhou at first; that's because they're insanely hard. I still cannot complete Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, and I haven't even touched the PC98 Touhou games (which require an emulator, all of this available at DoujinStyle), but they're going to be fucking hard regardless.

Well, I guess I'll have something to at least attempt next weekend -w-

It's not so much that they're insanely difficult, it's that they aren't a type of game that's been cloned dozens and dozens of times in mainstream gaming so we're not used to them. Halflife 2 would be insanely hard if we didn't have every FPS after Doom to have gotten used to the basic mode of gameplay- and really, they went to a lot of effort to make what you have to do in the Halflife games easy to figure out. Only Portal had anything resembling difficult puzzles and that was because they did bonus levels.

What we're used to is bullets that move at instant speed as soon as the enemy has a gun pointed at you, energy balls that still move to fast to weave between them and still have the same "make them aim at the wrong place" strategy for not dieing, and then regular bullets that move slower because people wanted to put bullet time in their game (though even there you're still trying to aim for the spot that gets you shot 1-5 times instead of 50.)

But keeping track of flower shaped patterns of bullets? I've never done anything of the sort before these games. A couple of years of on and off play have built up some sense of mass-trajectory judgment somewhere in my skull so on normal very few of my deaths come from choosing a stupid path to take while most come from me being clumsy and moving unintended amounts or timing my switches between fast and slow movement poorly.

Though on the levels where the generic enemies actually put up enough bullets to form a wall you can't get through you have to know that's coming to be sure you'll have a way out. I'm not so much a fan of having to use bombs because I haven't memorized the order of enemies in the level.

This raises the thought of.... 3D Touhou!
Imagine weaving in between bullets in 3D, now that would be difficult.
