It's less of an issue of being able to ignore it; more that it's like a retarded sibling that you have to hide away when company is over to avoid embarrassment.
It's been leaving a bit of a taint on the whole forum lately, and I can imagine people have been scared away by it.

Anyway, as I and other people have said, there's room for much of the VN stuff in forum games. The map and much of the political stuff would fit in there perfectly, I think.
The reason I suggest IRC for true nonsense is because that can't really be policed due to its fleeting nature, and it's better suited to the "chatting" that's been going on VN.

I'm sorry if it's upsetting to you, Akroma, but it's a dead forum that has no purpose to exist at this point, and your calls for moderation don't really make much sense when we have other forums less likely to devolve into nonsense that otherwise serve the exact same purpose. If you want to screw around, start something in forum games.

To be honest, VN was a great place, its where all the greats were spawned. But with the fissioning of it into sub forums it has become... a bit stupid as of late.

Yeah, I can move over the map-image-adder-on-to thread to forum games as long as there some kind of notion of intent there.  That is, posts in the threads should have something to do with the building of the image and not just be random.  I don't want all the other forum games to get pushed out by VN threads masquerading as game threads.

 I second that notion.
 Also, Splendiferous caused quite a bit of this drama, although I believe it was merely a speed up rather than a cause. I don't think he thought his actions would cause forum-wide crime to happen.

 I'm not calling for a witch hunt here, I'm just saying I have pitchforks and torches ready.
