To go back on topic both the books and movies annoy me to no end.

And I have have to endure countless pointless arguments (my year 12 legal studies class-all female except me) trying to explain that they are terrible books and no author deserves any kind of extreme wealth and fame for coming up with them.

And also these people thought the movie was terrible so god knows how they could have made it that much worse.

I tend to avoid fiction with vampires for the same reason I dislike many stories with elves: both vampires and elves tend to be portrayed as little more than perfect pretty humans. They exist so that ordinary humans can be perfect pretty humans vicariously.
