Aquifier and World Generation
« on: April 07, 2009, 12:05:16 pm »

Hi, I'm wondering if there is a setting or settings that can limit the amount of aquifiers in a world during generation. I ask this because I am fond of starting forts along major rivers but it is nigh impossible to find a river location with good stone without 2-3 aquifiers. Thanks.

Easy, but blunt, solution: go into matgloss_layer, and remove the AQUIFER tag from everything. Poof, no more aquifers. Personally, I've never missed them.

On a side note, is there any way to increase the amount of major rivers?

Howabout that weird issue where all the rivers on a whole swath of the map just seem to vanish during worldgen? This includes brooks, minor rivers, major rivers, and above ground lakes. It ruins a good number of otherwise ideal sites every time I gen a map.
