Wiki says a [GROWDUR] of 1008 is one season for plants.

Fun fact (In matgloss_plant.txt)

[MATGLOSS_PLANT:MUSHROOM_HELMET_PLUMP]
[TILE:6][COLOR:5:0:0]
[NAME:plump helmet][NAME_PLURAL:plump helmets]
[GROWDUR:300][VALUE:10]
[DRINK:dwarven wine:5:0:0]
[DRINKVALUE:2]
[SEEDNAME:plump helmet spawn][SEED:4:0:1]
[GENPOWER:2]
[SPRING][SUMMER][AUTUMN][WINTER]
[FREQUENCY:100]
[CLUSTERSIZE:5]
[EDIBLE_VERMIN]
[EDIBLE_RAW]
[PREFSTRING:rounded tops]
[WET][DRY][BIOME:SUBTERRANEAN_WATER]

This makes plump helmets (not plump helmet spawn) cost 20 points on embark. XD Dunno if its [VALUE] multiplied by a base modifier of 2, or if the cost is [VALUE] X [DRINKVALUE]. Be right back; testing.

EDIT: Nope, seems to be a base modifier of 2. So, point cost on embark= [VALUE]X2.

What are you getting at Eagle?
You can make food more expensive to buy at embark, allowing less food to be taken, making the game harder.

Yes, the higher the [GROWDUR], the longer a plant will take to grow.

How about also making wagons with less [trADE_CAPACITY]? Or even eliminating them altogether.

Seeds are always 1 point however.

That will also modify the value of any plump helmet products, creating valuable roasts and ahppy thoughts (truely decadent meal/drink recently) if you do actually manage to grow them,

Just a thought: If you removed [INDOOR_FARMING], then you wouldn't be able to buy the seeds on embark. If you couldn't buy the seeds on embark, you would need to breach an underground water feature and gather plants from the mud to get any indoor farming going at all. That seems like it would make life more difficult.

minor flaw with the bed onee....if you don't embark with any wood you'll have the issue of no barracks (unless theres another way to define them?)soooo... the first orc siege will prrooolyyyy wipe you out (if your like me and refuse to use locked doors/pits/raised bridges ect to stop sieges and would rather die in an epic last stand amongst the graves of your ancestors and/or the dining room :P)

PRETTY sure you can chisel some armor stands out of the nearest rock, and just use those.

Both armor stands and weapon racks can be used to make barracks, can be be made of all materials.

Because simply having the option to keep them alive makes the game a lot easier if you have a moment of weakness.
