Did the carp do that to your adventurer? If they did, I will once and for all finally believe that they are as dangerous as people say they are.

Nah, they were dire wolves. It had been the first time I'd seen one, too.

That sounds just like Pokemon.

You search ages for that rare encounter, and when you finally find it, either you kill it or it kills you.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Wolves tore off my adventurer's limbs, and you are reminded of pokemon?

My word! What a bad bear, indeed a very bad bear.
You should go find a better bear to replace him, one with proper claws and teeth.

However the wolves did a much better job, a very good job, did you tip them properly?

Make 10 adventurers with level 5 marksman and only marksman
Travel to said city and retire each one there
Make an uber adventurer, recruit them, and lead a platoon of platemail'd crossbowdorfs and BLOT OUT THE SUN WITH YOUR BOLTS

Well, there is good news, the carp haven't come back after one game year. It is really amazing that I actually drove them out, but for some reason there is still blood in the river.

A town near a lake filled with flesh eating carps? Sounds like a horror movie.

This Summer Fear Changes Name To Carp.
