One of my dwarves made yet another useless wooden artifact trinket, which gave me an idea. Right now, only champions claim artifact weapons to use - perhaps artifact trinkets should be claimed by your ruler (and possibly other very high end nobility like the count) giving them a very happy though - perhaps a persistent one, like "owns a legendary item" or something.

Maybe if they get an artifact of something they like, they will no longer make demands for that sort of thing (or at least make them much, much less frequently).

Of course if an artifact they own is lost or destroyed they should get a HUGE sad thought, and perhaps assign punishments to any guards/royal guards you have.
