Granted. Your arm was being taken over by an invulnerable evil alien parasite, it needed removing before the parasite spread further and a chainsaw was all we had nearby. On the plus side, while the parasite was evil, it was symbiotic and pumped your system full of regeneratives while it was attached, so your limbs should grow back.

I wish I didn't find it fun to remove his limbs once the danger was gone.
