Fortuneaxe (Sucession) *New Fort, Angelblade*
« on: April 04, 2009, 12:50:24 pm »

This is a community fort, fortuneaxe, located in a moderateley resource rich location.

(black sand and heavily forest on flatlands)
I'm using the http://tinyurl.com/rapidexp rapid expansion build, and this particular bloodline will go for 50 years, or the fort's doom, whichever comes first.
I will play the first  year and post logs later today, but first i need other leaders down the line.

STRIKE THE EARTH!

We have begun to dig out the mountain, but we noticed curious patches of open space.
Lo and Behold, A Chasm.

This is a blessing and a curse, we will have silk, but we will have to be careful of our dwarves getting maimed by cave spiders.
22nd Granite
Our miners have struck a vein of native copper! This will be of great use to our upcoming military and future miners.

I had to go to a homeshow with my mom, but the lineage has been updated.
Also, A single ruler may take up to two turns, but not consecutively.
I'll have my year finished before I go to bed.

22 felsite
we have buildings outside like a bunch of humans.

This is partly because of all the stone we have, there is no room for any beds. We are at the point where I'm about to give the order "Screw the mountain!" "Dig into the soil!"
Also, lineage updated.

We struck Orpiment.

Now, If I knew what Orpiment was, that would be even better.

I'll lead the masses for a year

Might be fun with a capital D or it might prosper and be boring

One way to find out :P

'b' is different than 'x' and a Bed doesn't hold back magma as well as a Floodgate no matter how fast you type.

We have found what we beleive to be a suitable site for our outpost.
The mountain itself has Obsidian at the top, the basalt with geanite at its base.
The leftmost forest has clay on top of those stones, and is a woodland,
and the rightmost forest has sandy clay loam, Diorite, granite and then Gabbro at the bottom, So we May even have diamonds! This shall be A Masterpeice of the Bell of roses! I'm A Good mechanic and building designer, and my freinds have nicknamed me Fermii or Fermi II After some human. He Did SOmesthing Important, but I don't Remeber What. I think He was also a mechanic... I gathered Six other dwarves and supplies based on the Queen's reccomendation ( tinyurl.om/rapexp) and set on My merry way. I Shall Call it... Angelblade. IT sounds nice without meaning anything.

1st GRanite
Magma! And Exopsed Gems! We Have a pretty good site if I Say so myself.

3rd Granite
There was a small pool of water blocking where I wanted the main Hallway to Be. It Didn't seem to be deep so we breached it, and it thinned out to puddles. We've dissasembled the wagon and are moving supplies to the fort's entrance.

12th Granite
We set to work unpacking the wagon and mining at exposed ore. We found an amethyst and exposed veins of native copper.
17th Granite
Nothing of Intrest Happened.

2nd Slate
While Digging for native copper, we dicovered Native aluminum. Woot!
We have workshops, and we have made obsidian short swords for hunting and we are set to forge a battle axe for woodcutting and picks for mining.
3rd Slate
While digging in the same magic cluster which revealed native copper and native aluminum, we discovered The Gem Prase! THis is a magic spot for mining!

12th Slate
While in DF Companion, I accidentally hit "Hurt" instead of "Zoom" and so killed my carpenter. I think I'll savescum here.

1st felsite
The fort isn't actually done, and my ranger is hunting, which is currently not needed instead of chopping wood, which is needed and making beds, which is FRAKKING CRITICAL! I HAVE HAD TO SLEEP ON JAGGED OBSIDIAN FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS. FRAKKING UNACCEPTABLE!!! I'm also telling my miners we have enough copper ore and now need to dig the fortress. on an unrelated note, we have more gems.

9th felsite
We actually have a halway half complete. We can then start digging rooms for our workshops and move our stockpiles inside.
14th felsite
The cat seems to have aken a liking to me. Also, as I look around the site, I notice that the gems we uncovered significantly increased the value of our fort. I appraised the gems ore and stone to be worth about #4750.

28th felsite
We have our main hallway, and have located magma forges. we finally have use for all the machanisms I was making: traps. the two obsidian shortswords we had made went into weapon traps, while we lined the entrance hallway with stone-fall traps. also, we struck red zircons. more gems, more wealth
