Dungeons and Dorfs Mod v0.3:Primal Races
« on: April 03, 2009, 06:39:34 pm »

http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=949

This is a small mod I've been working on that introduces DnD stuff to DF, plus a few other things I wanted to add like reactions and such. Following is a list of the new races, creatures, and such.

New Entities:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

New Creatures:

You'll learn about HFS and Megabeats on your own...  ;)

New Plants:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

New Stones:

New Gems:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

New Metals:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

New Weapons:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

New Traps:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This mod is still in development and suggestions and feedback are more than welcome.
Hope you people like it!

NOTE:I forgot to mention that the default starting race in this mod are the gnomes, as they naturally have the most radical features. However, you can change that if you want in entity files.

Updates:

v0.2:-Gave Metallic Dragons ability to wear CLOTHING.
-Added in Mercury, a useless metal derived from Cinnabar.
-Added in Alchemical Silver, a moderately valued metal derived from silver and mercury and light enough to be turned into clothing and mechanisms.
-Changed some entity names to better suit civilizations.
-Added Elementium, a low value stone semlted from one of the four stones; olivine, kalonite, orthoclase, or microline. It is currently worthless, however.

v0.3:-Gave Metallic Dragons weapons.
-Minor tweaks to some entity and creature files.
-Orcs and Duregar will now attack earlier, as they were meant to.

Wow, cool stuff...

I've always loved the Dungeons & Drag...err... Dungeons & Dorfs world.
And this, well, this made my bizzare, bloody days playing DF better.

That sounds ironically familiar...

Duergar, not Duregar.

And I did a dnd mod (Legends of Faerun) so you can try to borrow some stuff from there too. Like  various dnd monsters, from different types of yuan-ti to gelatinous cubes, with graphics.

Thanks, but I don't use graphics. I'm way to used to vanilla. Regardless, thanks for the offer. I'm sure I can use some of your stuff as well (though I have big plans for this mod in the future).

Nice new stuff, but it is spelled aluminum, not aluninun. you also have excessive commas.

So, will there be any uses for microcline or orthoclase? (please say yes)

I've been reading through D&D4's monster manual, and have many times had the thought, "this would look good in DF". Ditto for looking through the equipment lists. :)

Actually using 3.5e, because I don't have 4e source books and I think that 4e is too watered down.

My next upgrades been put on hiatus, as I'm currently running a community fort using my mod, and I don't want the release the next major upload until the fort has finished its run (which, given my ability in DF, should come to a crashing end within a month at most). I'll make minor tweaks to perpare for the next version, but that's about it.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, its really helped me think and work out the next version.

Again, I'm trying to build this entirely by myself. Again however, thank you.

Ooh, nice. D&D does have some cool monsters.

Now if only I could figure out why the displacer beast in the Dangerous Wilds mod creates a placeholder " meat"...
