Everyone moves into these postions:


Enemy turn:


People move into these positions: Emp looks out for enemies, but then moves back into cover.


Enemy turn:


Zako and Emperor move up and Zako shoots an enemy to death with his shotgun:


Emperor steps forward and sees an enemy sniper. Arrow. That one that didn't kill him last mission. So Emp gently stabs Arrow to death.

Man, you can tell they have some sort of relationship. You could write novels about this.


Rick moves up and sees an enemy:

That enemy has 5 HP and A ranked Evasion. What should you guys do? If you kill it, you might not get back in cover, and some other enemy might shoot you.

Alright, for one: Stop fraternizing with the enemy Emperor! You enlisted knowing that this war was gonna pit lover against lover, and you're just gonna have to put aside your obvious man-love for Arrow.

Now two: move the group to the corner of the stairway, so that we're hiding by the stairway to the hostage, but they can't see us.

Enemy Turn:



That enemy moved over and shot Chaotic three times. Two more bullets and you have as much rap talent as 50 Cent. You've been shot 7 times. As retribution, Rick shot the enemy to death. His Glock proved to be a fantastic choice, as it's A range happened to be right where the enemy was standing. All 5 shots hit.


Okay, Chaotic, you have 2 HP. You don't have enough AP to get up to look around and then get back into cover. You do have enough AP to get to the hostage, though.


What do you want to do now?

I will bravely sacrifice myself to get the hostage to safety! Once he's untied, have him go directly south down the stairway, and have Rick there run up the stairs to draw fire away from him.

Whoo, glock skill! I think that captain chaotic should just hold back, and wait to be healed. We don't want any fatalities here.

Just saying, there are 6 enemy units on this mission. If we wait too long, at least two of them are likely to head down and camp our flag. So a heroic sacrifice might let us get through fast enough to avoid them.

Alright, I see that my men care about me, and not in the way Emperor cares about Arrow.

I'll fall back, get healed, and THEN we charge in guns blazing!

Also, FYI: you could get healed to 4 HP this turn and run in, but Rick might not be able to cover the hostage as effectively. Barack probably would, though.

Do you want to go this turn? You'll only be down 1 HP.

Both Barack and Rick use their special ability to heal Chaotic, bringing him up to 4 HP.


Emperor moves up and makes an active search, seeing the enemy Leader. He ducks back into cover.

This is the formation that CJ, Rick, and Barack are in at the end of the turn.


Enemy Turn!


Cue Mission Impossible Music
Emperor looks out. The coast is clear, so CJ unties the hostage.


Like the protagonist of an existentialist German short film, the hostage dramatically runs for it.


CJ starts shooting at their leader, but he gets down to 1 AP (the H&K takes 2 AP to fire), and he's 2 squares away from the leader. It seems as though we will finally have a fatality.


But then Emp sprints across the fucking map and stabs the Leader to death. YEAAHHHH


At this point, I have Zako start going back down for the potential show down with the enemy at the flag. There are some shots of Barack and Rick with the hostage, too:


Enemy Turn:


We moved into this position: Zako hopped the pipe to get in front of the hostage.

Map included so everyone is visible.

Enemy turn: Nothing important.


Rick moves down and GUUUESSS WHHHAAAAAT

The SMG he chose just so happens to be fucking perfect for this particular situation. He kills the enemy with one attack action. Rick is promoted to WEAPON GUY. Rick, start suggesting weapons for people.

After shooting the guy, Rick moves back up, and our team gets into this position:

Meanwhile, Emp is coming down the left side.

Enemy turn:

The last enemy came up and shot at Rick at least 5 times, missing every shot.

If we kill the last enemy, we get points for that, but not for fulfilling the Mission Objective. We can't let that happen, so we form a dramatic human wall and get the hostage just barely close enough to make it to the flag next turn.



The enemy throws like 4 grenades at us, but it doesn't matter. The power of heart keeps us alive, or something.



At this point, Emperor sprints across the stage (again) and gets in a spite stab before everyone packs into a small area (it looks better) and the hostage touches the flag. YYEEEEAAAH


We won, unlocked a new handgun, and Zako got an evade bonus!

Mission 09 -

A Capture the Flag battle in the snow. We'd be outnumbered by 1. The map has a lot of open space, but the flag areas are tight-quarters. If I recall correctly, this map unlocks a gun that looks a lot like the battle rifle from the Halo series of games.

Mission 10 -

A can killing battle. I think there's a pick up character here. I'm pretty sure this level also unlocks the second best knife in the game.

Mission 11 -

Another can killing battle. This one has a mix of close quarters and long range. I think we unlock an light machine gun here.

Mission 12 -

A leader assassination mission in a dank maze. I've had bad experiences with this mission. It's hard. We unlock an even better H&K SMG.

Mission 13 -

A capture the flag battle with a river running through the map.

Mission 14 -

In this mission, we are outnumbered 3 to 8, and we have to survive for 25 turns.

Mission 15 -

A flag battle centering around a very long corridor. Obviously, high AP or long range weapons are nearly mandatory. I think there's a pick up character here. I needed two shots to get most of the map.

Mission 16 -

In this mission, we are outnumbered 5 to 8 and have to escape the map. I needed two shots to get most of the map.
