Err, why so agressive? Like someone said above, probably most people on this forum are at the top of their class, or atleast smart. Some are just more eccentric than others.

Also, I disagree with Dasleah. Adult life can be quite good, if you get a decent job that you like. Which basically means being in the 'people with futures' group in school, like shoruke said, to enter a decent university etc.

In my school, I'm only in 10th grade (highschool starts at 10th grade here) and its easy to tell who has a future and who doesnt.

Heh, surprisingly enough, I find quite a few public schoolers arrogant, condescending, and annoying (though not all.)

Sorry, as a homeschooler myself, I just couldn't let that go without saying anything.
(this isn't to say that there aren't exceptions in both cases, some people are just idiots wherever they are.)

Speaking as someone who used to live next door to a home-schooled family that made the Flanders' look like swinging rocket scientists, I'll just comment that when I'm grading myself, I usually say I'm awesome too.

I apologize if I came off as arrogant, or offended you.  If you want something slightly more objective, try reading these.

Whenever I watched American shows about high school, with their jocks and bullies and nerds and popular people and unpopular people and sitting at the wrong table of the cafeteria if you're the wrong social status, and people being given wedgies and shoved into lockers, or simply getting the crap beaten out of them constantly, and brainless cheerleaders talking like, "like that is totally awesome!", I always thought to myself "How do they come up with this shit? Fiction is so fun."

I still refuse to believe that people of sixteen and seventeen could act like that.
My faith in humanity is crumbling, but still standing.
Anyway, my aim is to avoid the dull, grey life of offices and spinny chairs of my parents and to somehow enter the entertainment industry, be it music or journalism.
(then I can buy all the spinny chairs and blu-tack I want, and it will be MINE.)
I've never, ever met anyone who was home schooled apart from a tiny vegetarian who thought he was psychic.

I go to a Canadian highschool, and every day I have to stop myself from brutally murdering 4/5 of the students.
The tales you hear about American/Canadian highschools are bull, its a hell of alot worse.

About two thirds of the kids think they are "gansta", and "badass", and loudly talk in class while playing rap music, and generally disrespect and piss off everyone else intentionally, just because they think their "homies" will back them up.

Ah, but that would be like the ghetto schools from movies like Dangerous Minds or The Principal. Ironically these seem much more realistic in a dangerous neighborhoods or higher-density cities or those filled with "gansta" kids.

The shock comes that public schools in more "suburban" areas, low density middle class neighborhoods are actually like depicted in the airhead-cheerleader/bully-jock/abused-nerd/ignored-goth stereotypical type of movies.
