Combining multi-core processing?
« on: March 31, 2009, 01:18:14 pm »

Is there any way to combine multiple processor cores into a virtual one?
Kinda like a really tiny beowulf cluster, but suitable for playing DF.

I'm asking because I have a quad core processor, and I'd really like to get more out of it for DF performance.

I must admit, I'm curious as to how too. I don't think it would be technically impossible but I'm not sure how it would be done.

The only way I think you could do it is if you created a virtual machine within yours that functions as if it has a single core, then played DF on that.

Of course, I'm no expert, so someone who actually knows what they're talking about might have a better suggestion.

Well if it's possible, tell us how.   ;) I wasn't able to find any informations about this.
