Author Topic: [40d] A dragon missing a limb arrived at my fortress and collapsed in pain.  (Read 859 times)

It's still where it entered the map, collapsed on the ground, occasionally slipping in and out of consciousness.  I'm guessing it was injured in the history or something.

Is this normal?  Is it a known issue?

It lost a limb during History Gen.  Toady hasn't added the fix for the pain yet.  Well, he may have, but we won't see it until next release.

(That is, a wound 5 years old shouldn't be bothering the creature anymore)

Yeah, I'm curious how world gen wounds, healing and scarring are going to be handled.

Of course, due to the general overhaul of bodies, tissues, materials etc., megabeasts should be much less likely to get these kinds of injuries in the first place.

No, I'm pretty sure they'll still be taking heavy wounds from unskilled peasants, that's what makes DF awesome: the ability for a stray kitten to kill bronze colossi.

The bronze colossi is a bad example, since their massive damblock and immunity to both pain/fatigue and organ damage (which are usually what really ends up killing you) makes them genuinely tough to kill.

The bronze colossi is a bad example, since their massive damblock and immunity to both pain/fatigue and organ damage (which are usually what really ends up killing you) makes them genuinely tough to kill.

Except in world gen where they get their toe ripped off by the first kobold they encounter.

And yet, I had one dodge off a cliff from an otherwise innocent kitten and it died on impact.
