Would even be weirder that if you were smashing someone and at the same time a third player attacks you, you can go back in time and ask the one you were beating to join you against the one killing you in return for no smashing. Imagine being the third player in said case...

Dynamic alliances tend to suck because, in a 3 player game, one player usually gets allied against and owned.  That's not fun for 1/3 of the players.

Hell, FFA with more than two players almost always sucks even without dynamic alliances.

Pretty sure that usually happens in an RTS even if there wasn't an option to ally. It's incredibly rare for three players to spend the entire match just fighting each other evenly.

Necroing for a good purpose.

http://achrongame.com/

There has been a lot of progress in gameplay and art direction. There are explaining the mechanics behind the time-travel, design decisions and overall direction of the game. The backstory is beginning to take shape, and the music sample is pretty cool.

This is probably my most anticipated game ever (aside from DF v1.0 that is)

Okay, a video has been released showcasing a paradox. Paradoxes are allowed, but you have to time it effectively for it to work.
That looks ridiculously overpowered, an army that resets to full health and numbers every other time wave and a factory doing the same every "off wave".

Is it that overpowered if both sides can do it?

Did they mention AI? It may be pretty hard getting AI that actually works is such a game, with all time the traveling.
Generaly, this looks pretty good. Hopefully they don't screw something up really bad.

Let take the example of the grandfather paradox.

You go back in time, and you kill your grandfather.
This means you can't be born. Meaning you can't kill your grandfather.

Paradoxes aren't logical, they cannot happen, that how the laws of physics work. The only way that could explain it if you can't go back in time and kill your grandfather. You would be unable to change history. Scientists did experiments with billiard balls to simulate time travelling, and they concluded that the only logically consistent way would be if the billard bills hit in such a fashion that a Billard Ball hit a Billard Ball which is at rest, causing that Billard Ball to travel back in time and hit the same Billard Ball at rest.

They did a documentary on Time Travel on the PBS Show NOVA. I'm going to trust them. Realistically, time travel can't change history.

Time travel is impossible. It's saying you are going to go back in time to a previous state. The universe doesn't have a save game system.

Time is just another dimension. We're constantly traveling forward in it. The trick is to figure out how to teleport matter, or make wormholes between two separate locations, so you can go backwards without intersecting with yourself.

time travel is possible with black holes, but only forward. Say you spent 1 milisecond inside a black hole and came back out, it could be 5 seconds later or in the dark age[when all the stars in the universe die out] or possibly the universe died[read:wikipedia end of the universe], but there's like no way we'll ever be able to traverse black holes, so yea, time travels a no-no. But this is a vidya game, so we need not worry about that.

They have also given us a calendar on release milestones.

While of course these won't be set in stone, it gives us an idea of how they are going to go about it and how involved they expect their community to get.

Very much down for this and grateful for the timely bump.  Hoping luck is with me in the new year to make it into the first 500 pre-order wise for the very useful discount!

Pre-order is live people!  I even managed to luck out and get in for $20 instead of $30.

And so, the long road towards reckoning a Roguelike using their Resequence Engine and such barely begins....
