Well, I was going to ramble in the various nonsense part, but the thoughts weren't that much of a non-sense. Then I thought about associating DF with other games in a recent thread, that time it was WoW but that's an easy example. So here I present you a thread to associate DF with other games. It might be HIGHLY spoileriffic. And, I'll give you an example:
Raiden from MGS2 is a dwarf. And the whole plant episode of MGS2 is in fact, a supermegaproject, including the ARSENAL GEAR.
How to tell?
a)
He manages to avoid drowning.b) He does succumb to tantrums.
c) HELLO THE WHOLE THING IS A HUGE FORT WITH HALF OF IT SUBMERGED IN OCEAN.
d) The booze does not explode, but turns into a fine mist when shot or grenade'd.
e) Raiden also has fits of martial trance, but it's more apparent on Solid Snake.
f) The whole story can be explained as the fort running out of booze, instead of patriots and other BS.
g) And the METAL GEAR RAYs are the Carp. And meet their end with a huge weapon swinging sociopath who is on fire most of the time.
h) Solidus, who was the president of the USA at the time of MGS1 mandated some ICBM capable bi-peds, but when his mandate wasn't met in time, he went berserk. Thus, Raiden finishes him off in the end, on the smoking ruins of METAL GEAR ARSENAL lodged firmly in Manhattan, while, most of the time, on fire. One interesting note, Solidus uses a ☼Tentacle Demon Hide Coat☼. But there aren't any HFS around... are there?
i) The whole 3S training program is a dwarven trap system automated by pressure plates set under moving water.
j) The apparent lack of levers is due to the tileset used by Hideo Kojima.
k) Liquid's arm is a precursor for Toady's healthcare system - it's an artifact arm created by a macabre mood. Ocelot then fine-tunes this into something else in MGS4.
l) The Tengu warriors at the end are elves.
m) There are lots of teleporting vermin, most of them being the bugs in Shell 1. There is one other, a Parakeet, who has trouble in 3d pathfinding, evident at the closing vids.
[citation needed]n) Otakon is stricken with melancholy at the end, but Kojima cheats.
And yes, I put up a
[citation needed] up there because I wanted to.
