I know this is a stupid question, but are you copying & pasting the folder or the files?

Okay. So I download it, it is one file. I put it in raws/objects. Correct? Because I did this, and nothing changed.

Okay.
Have a new DF.
I have the mod downloaded.
I put it into Notepad.  <=WHAT DA HELL DOES IT MEAN?
I put it into raw/objects
Start DF
Gen world
Start Adventure Mode...and

Result: Nope. Humans, Elves, and Dwarves. what am I doing wrong?

o_O
Are you kidding me?

1) You OPEN the dled file with WINRAR, right?
2) You EXTRACT files from this archive into df/raw/objects
3) You tell to OVERWRITE existing files every time the question window pops up...

Mind if you show me a screenshot of your df/raw/objects folder after that?

This thread smells of trolls.

Okay, wait.
When I download the file, it asks what I want to save it as(ie WOrd, Notepad, etc). Is that the problem.

Very likely.

If you mangle the file during download, it can't be expected to work properly afterwards.

I think this file is a RAR archive, correct? Then you would want to save it to your HD as such, NOT any other format - if you don't have it already, you'll need a copy of winrar or some other decompressor, google it. Then extract the contents (which will be Notepad-compatible TXT files), and dump those into your RAW/OBJECTS folder, replacing the original files with the new ones.

THEN delete anything in DATA/OBJECTS, and gen a new world. That should do the trick.

Rochndil, who uses ZipGenius and 7zip hisself - winrar is annoying...

That only needs to be done if you are removing a mod or installing a total conversion mod.  From what I understand of the 40k mod, it's an addition mod, isn't it?

That should be it.  You don't have to buy it; you can get the free demo and it'll work just fine.

So, you were downloading a .zip (or .rar) and saving that as a .txt? No wonder it wasn't working that. That's... just.

Gah.

I need a lie down.

LOL It would surprise you how many people are stumped when a file says .rar on it.

And I had a feeling that was what was happening or he had just placed the archive in the directory about half way through reading the thread... LOL would have mentioned it if someone else didnt already see it and mention it.

To solve all your problems, delete all of the raws, and just put in the ones from this mod, you people don't seem to ge that it's a total conversion, everything else just makes problems, it's not that hard to understand how to do this.
