Experiment: Armok's Bomb.
« on: March 27, 2009, 02:15:33 pm »

So yea, yet another enginnering idea focused around causing death and destruction, just another day on dwarf fortress. Unfortunely i haven't had much time to develop my yet infant fort, and i decided to put these plans somewhere before i forget about it completely:

Booze doesn't explode. It just burns.

Well thats a bummer, but hell, maybe the cave-in action should spread the flamming booze around a bit?

On that topic, how cool would flammable liquids be?(in the vein of water and magma)

Scratch that, I think the new material raws allow such capabilities...

Booze doesn't explode but it does vaporize quickly and some times dangerously.

Fire snakes don't do that.  They don't make anything catch on fire; I've had a bad habit of putting food stocks next to magma pipes, and all that ever happens is the spontaneous destruction of a barrel.

Booze doesn't burn, by the way.  It only boils.  Since items at their boiling points are automatically set to there boiling points, and since booze has an unusually low boiling point, boiling booze is harmless.

And this is how tinned food was invented.

Just so I remember

Leather gear burns. Build some leather gear. Build something that sets it on fire. Then use a drawbridge to catapult it out toward a target. ?

Replaces the booze barrels with cats.
Or something else furry and flammable, like dwarves :)

Boiling leather has the weird tendency to FREEZE people to death, as I found out quite painfully.

Why is the support *above* the booze and magma?

Or you could pave the sky and suspend it from above.  Orbital Magma Cannons... Hmm.  I think I'd need more scaffolding.

Build a stairway to the sky and cover the top z level with hatches. Pump magma up there and have a dwarf on stand-by. That is how you win df.
