Strangest creature name?
« on: March 26, 2009, 11:58:39 pm »

My hunter was just killed by a sasquatch...ripped limb from limb. In horror, the dwarves named this mighty beast "Urgebowels."

What is the strangest creature name you've had appear?

I had an ogre named Girlishgirl the Fruity boy, once.

In terms of awesome, an orc warlord named Skullcrush Bloodgrip the Grave of Hope.

God, that is an epic name... if it weren't for the grave of hope at the end.

Dude! the "Grave of Hope" is the best part!

What does Skullcrush Bloodgrip do to his enemies?

He murders their hopes, and buries them in a lonely grave of suck.

He crushes their skulls with his powerful grip, his hand coated in blood. Your hopes will surely die at the sight of his ferocity.

Actually, I thought of it as a grave that brings hope to people who see it, but now I like y'all's way of interpreting it.

I have a champion wrestler titled "The Shady Boat of Tactics" who has single handedly repelled two ambushes alone with... tactics.

More humorous, though, is this vaguely related statement from Adventure mode:

"in [...] ruled from The Strapping Howls of The Group of Rubbing in Seizebuttoned."

Yep. Nothing suggestive about THAT.

Well, once I talked to the High priest of a temple and asked him about the temple.  He said:

"It is said that the upper levels of this temple can allow one to experience lightning for the greater glory of Nemen Questedbreach."

I'm thinking there's a pile of charred priests somewhere around there.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

I call fakepost. Neither Girlish nor fruity is in the language files.

I'm not sure about girlish, but fruity is definitely in the files. I had a hammerer named Fruityseers, for goodness' sake. A name like that for a hammerer is something you don't easily forget.

fruitseers maybe? There is no fruity in the language files or string dump so, unless dwarf fortress suddenly developed grammar you'd have to mod your files. I'm sorry but if it's not there it's not there, look for yourself.

And why would you mod your files to include girlish and fruity =/
