Human Forest Retreats?
« on: March 26, 2009, 02:31:14 pm »

Ok, i dunno if this is a common problem or not, buuutt...

In one of my larger worlds, most of the forest retreats are owned by humans, and on the region map show up as "The Human Forest Retreat of <name>". Also, when starting a new game in adventure mode and selecting a fortress to start in, one of the dwarf locations had a few of the forest retreat symbols in it. So i started in the middle of a forest  :o

Any ideas?

Have you been doing any modding without generating a new world?  Specifically stuff like adding or removing entities or creatures?

What do you mean about the dwarf location having "a few" forest retreat symbols?  It had more than one symbol?

Anyway, this might also be explained simply by elf sites getting conquered and occupied.  That does happen.  Try opening the world in Legends and looking up the sites to see if you can discover their history.

That's what i had thought, but wouldn't the humans just destroy the place or whatever?

Anyway, i mean that instead of having 3 or 4 omega symbols (i think thats the name for it anyway) for the fortress, it had some omega symbols and some accented i's to symbolise the forest.

Only thing i've done recently is given humans [CIV_CONTROLLABLE], but i gen'd a new world for them.

I think conquerors do raze sites sometimes, but humans and dwarves have [TOLERATES_SITE:TREE_CITY] so maybe they just decided to hang out there.

OH multiple symbols on the local map, my bad, I was thinking of the regional map for some reason.  It's weird that there are multiple symbols mixed together though.  Maybe the dwarves are building something at the conquered site?  You could check it out with an adventurer.

Humans for one don't necessarily raze the sites they conquered, I've seen a human local leader leading from the top of a goblin tower, with a human town at the bottom. They didn't even bother to build the "temple" or "keep" buildings, just hovels, apartments, and a tavern. It had a pretty huge population too.

When humans and dwarves conquer a site, they build their structures on it and start living there (unless, I think, it is a dark fortress or kobald cave).
