My word, that is small.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

I almost finished a cool tileset 100% from scratch, with a Nordic theme. I didn't complete it because it was 16x16, and when I tested my first draft, I realized my monitor was 1024x768. Yep, can only fit up to 13 wide. *sob*
I should probably upload the png anyway so others can use it.

Though my main language uses ümlauts (and even Ç), I dislike the accented letters. Getting rid of them was a bliss.

I have this aversion since my first MSDOS days, where my accented letters would show as weird graphics, and unlike in DF; they made no sense.

So how do you guys make tilesets? Do you just toss a bitmap in MS Paint and have at it? Or do you do various work in other forms - photoshop with layers - or even just a file with space between the tiles so you can tell where the borders are? I made a tool for Savok to work with files like that.

Try it scaled down with TEXTURE_PARAM:LINEAR.

Ah, but it doesn't have to be!! I was initially bothered by how small it looked, but you can set your screen size to a multiple of the original resolution to get a much better picture.

Example: The Plac1d tileset is built for a 640x300 screen size, which is tiny. But in the init file, double your screen size to 1280x600, which looks more normal. From there, you can start messing with the grid sizes. This also works with his graphics pack, and it all of the creatures have a great pixel art feel to them. Almost like Colonization or Civ II.
