Post your goriest battlefields here.
« on: March 24, 2009, 07:53:04 pm »

I just had a particularly fun-to-watch battle with four goblin squads in my new fortress. Three of the four were led by legendary babysnatched dwarves; an elite crossbowdwarf, a pikemaster, and a swordmaster. The swordmaster got away, the other two bit it. But this is one of the more bloodbath-esque results I've seen so far in this game, especially since the goblins in this area come with Beak Dogs:

There's more carnage on the next z-level up, but most of it is in this shallow entrance depression to the fort.

Can anyone beat this gorefest with one of their own?

Are you allowed to cheat?
Like, giving goblins a thousand limbs?
or
catsplosion.

Catsplosion would fail due to the smoke.

Unfortunatley I don't have a screenshot of 100 dwarves rushing three goblin squads, one of which a archer squad that just kinda took down about 30 charging dwarves, leading a hallway full of an end product of 80 limbs/chunks and nearly a 100 bodies. I won, barely. XD

Sadly, that's impossible now I have a legendary hammerdwarf. He enjoys playing rhesus macauqe golf in the spring, chipping goblins over ponds, and whomping babysnatched local leaders.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

Heh, how do the elves react to the blood soaked trees?

These days, I'm having fun playing with kobolds in the Civ. Forge mod.
Long story short: I always have to train a bunch of people right from the start as militia, even if they have copper as armor.

Then one day, Frost Giants started a siege. I entered the battle with 15 champions, after it was all over, I had 8 left. One later went insane.

All together, I've had 30 or so Champions die in the line of duty. Truly, the life of a kobold is full of hardships.

I really wish I had saved something from my early days when I had a flooding accident.  Who knew pressurized water would come OUT of wells?  Had to puncutre my fortress walls to save the fort and flooded the forest.  Then goblins + Elf merchants + my crappy military + flooded forest = entire outdoors covered in blood + blood waterfalls.
