I saw an awesome movie of an underwater catapult. It was something like this:

Go into the raw folder and find the creature your looking for and change the [HOMEOTHERM:(value)] token to whatever pleases your demented mind.Then save the file and go back into dwarf fortress ( only need to gen world if you edit the entity file.)
Also I don't think that's the only temperature changing token

Also I don't think that's the only temperature changing token

SoFs use, I believe, [FIXED_TEMP].   Given that water freezes at 10000 in DF.. I wonder if you could set carp's fixed temp to, like, 2000  -- then laugh as they freeze the river and get crushed to death inside self-generated ice blocks.

Forbid the carp areas, train two legendary wrestlers, dig a way out of the way, send in the the wrestlers.  ;D

I killed 14 carp with those 2 guys.

Thing I've noticed: How is it possible for a dwarf to have SO MUCH BLOOD?!. It's amazing how one dwarf can turn an entire river red with it's entrails.

Add [SEVERONBREAKS] (sp?) to the carp as well and you will get lots of flying carp bits.

As someone else suggested, I've found that teaching your dwarves to swim and digging ramps in all of your streams goes a long way towards helping survive carp.

Flood a meeting area with 3/7 or so water, teaches swimming nicely.  Alternately, I had a flooded-out room made entirely of UP staircases, and a room above it with almost no water made entirely of DOWN staircases, made that the meeting room.  Either way works.

Build some access ramps in the stream. Maybe your dwarves will survive if they can actually get out of the water once they're pulled in.

Yes. For carp and places with winter.

1) Zone it restricted. (As soon as you arrive.)
2) Carve out some ramps. (Whenever you have spare time.)
3) Marksdwarves. (When they're trained.)

Also, if you divert rivers into your fart for wells be sure to in-line a grate / bars / fortifications. Urst McChild having a party and dieing in a bloody mess (with one of his little friends) was at the root of my first loss.
