I used the orc mod and im pretty sure it had listed orcs as one of the civilizations nearby. Its been around a year and a half and their has been no orc siege, is this normal? I regened the world and there were orcs in the same spot, does that mean anything?

Depends on how active you were during that 1 & 1/2 year. You need a certain wealth, among other things to trigger their siege. Most of the time you don't even have to try to get them sieging by the first winter, but its possible to go a few years without triggering them.

I think (and if I'm wrong then I'm sure someone will correct me soon enough), the only way other than waiting is the following: first, you make a backup of your save, then abandon your fortress and look for your abandoned site (this is done by a capital R, IIRC) and then pressing tab until you see what other entities can reach you.

It's obviously best to remember to check for that before you embark in the first place, but that's easy to forget.

Any hints for luring the GCS into a cage trap?

I just chained a puppy as close as i dared, then surrounded it with 8 cage traps. IIRC I trapped the gcs the next season.

I've been trying to gen this in Mayday 40d16 and the best I can find is a site with everything else but magma... And I'm not happy with that.

You could always gen it on vanilla and then apply the cosmetic changes of Mayday afterwards.  It is what I do whenever a seed like this comes along.

Kinda skipped to the end but does it also have the only Magma-safe Rock on the map too?  (Bauxite right? I can never find Bauxite when I get a map with magma, not even the civi has it)

EDIT: Scratch that, mines 10X awesome. Its primarily composed of obsidian, and that makes things epic. Plus, dig into the channel and build a bridge that can be moved with a lever=epic siege defense.
