that actually bringsu p a questrion... Has anyone Found the underwater pool and rivers? What z-levels are they on?

Children of Armok rejoice! I have found a site with HFS, a magma pipe, sand, a forest, a brook, an underground river, a bottomless pit, flux stone, a chasm, and an underground pool! Rhyollite, marble, diorite! Silty clay loam, loam, black sand! Temperate Wilderness! The magma pipe is a volcano! All civilizations have access! Cliffs, low to high! Rejoice and pray for the glory is upon us! a 6x6 site that has the magnificence only before dreamed of! Truly Armok and The Toady One have given me this site as a sign of my faithfulness.

I just gen'ed this map and I have over 15 troglodytes (8 are on the surface <.<;, 18 ratmen and 5 fire imps as well as a gremlin and some other assorted large rats and bats.  I've never started on a map with this many hostiles before.  Should be "fun".

9th day in and the GSC is already murdering stuff... like lizardmen that I didn't even know where on the map.

Underground river was at 125 for me - just above the bottom of the map. If you drill straight down through the center of that embark tile (24 from each corner) you should just catch the edge of it. My stone profile seems to be different from everyone elses, so that might have an impact.

There you are wrong, the lizardmen is in the underground river and fell down into the chasm at the bottom of the river. if the GCS attacks lets say a groundhog you will get a notice '' Ambush, drive them out''

Didn't know that...  Learn something new everyday.  All I saw was lots of miasma and GSC webs on multiple z-layers in the bottomless pit.

By the By.. Since so many of us are using this Map, I would like to Proclaim that will post screencaps of our fortresses to compare what others are doing on the same map.. I know i;ll be posting mine when I get home from work!

Well I've only put a few hours into it to hollow out a something that WILL eventually work wall. Here it is:



The big hollow area in the center has magma under it and will be the workshop, and the area in the far east is the bedrooms. Under those will be the dining hall, I shall wait to plate it entirely with gold and some adamantite.

Also, I make this in the "canyon area" where the only access point is from the area the brook has carved out. I have removes all ramps, so walled the north end brook access. The only way in is a highly fortified area in the SW where the brook cuts into the mountain with a paved road west of that; fortified with a lava moat, then a wall, then a water moat, and wall, and bridges. Tower is my next construction. All the immigrants but 1 were food for the GCS.

I'll post picks of the area in an hour.

Another GCS has been sited in the bottomless, 2 levels below the brook. The mofo caught my miner in its web.

Interesting note. When I gen'd the world, just next to this place, is a 3 x 3 cave system. In mine, it was full of friendly Kobolds. Who knows what it might be in yours.

What do you do with a Friendly Kobold?

I now have a 3 way with a groundhog, a GCS and a troglodyte.

This is crazy, I'm not even to my first winter yet and im already on my 3rd screen of deceased critters.  In other news, the 2 cats I started with are also dead.  Told the caravan to bring me cats -.-;;  Thats a new one for me.

/atleast im safe behind 40 stonefall traps <.<'' and some chained/unchained wardogs (that have already eaten a few ratmen >.>'')

Still the best map i've ever played...

Hmmm... there's another GCS?

Here's a quick question: If I have 2 tame GCS, and 1 has a name from killing a dwarf and thus isn't truly; then will they still breed?

The only thing that would make this map better is if the water froze in the winter and it was Terrifying.
