Love this site, thanks a million.  However I am having some major problems with a bug or something.  I can't build magma forges or smelters.  I have a great fort all made and I have everything ready for the magma forges but there is no option to build them.  I'm on 40d(40d11 doesn't help my FPS) and use the mayday pack.  I am on a reclaim, had lots of "fun" with GCS first go.

If anyone has a fix for this I would love to know what to do.

Reclaim has bugs associated with it. Might need to gen this again and start over fresh.

Meh Fire imps setting the world on fire every so often is really fun

Send a group of low ranking dwarf to build a wall around your magma openning.. Shoot thats what I did and its saved me several times recently.. Imps can go nuts tourching the inside, rest of us are nice and snug.

ive been busy building alot but so far im quite satisfied. havent been bothered by the GCS yet but it sure killed many orcs.
the spider has killed about 3 pages in the unit list. the kills varies from orcs to groundhogs.

Man, I can't find the underground pool. My embark shows it one tile south and west of the pipe and I've drilled a bunch of exploration shafts straight to the bottom and nothing. Either it's smaller than any pool I've had before, or it's not actually there. Anyone find it?

Underground pool or river? The underground river is on z-level 125, several tiles to the left of the embark wagon and then straight south until you hit it.

I found the river fine. I drilled straight down the center of that tile and nicked the edge of it. But if you look on the original post's embark picture, there's a pool in the tile between the pit and the river. I can't seem to find that pool. I've put down a number of shafts all the way to the bottom level and haven't found it. I rechecked my embark picture and I have the same indication of a pool.

I shrank my embark region 1 from the left and 1 from the top so I actually embarked just west of the pit.

Third year going, have had tons of thieves, 2 rhesus maqaque rushes, one goblin ambush, one kobold ambush, and one orc siege... And tons ot stray kittens have been incinerated by fire imps. My sole military dwarf got title "solitary equity of executioner" Lost 2 dwarves to kobold ambush, 7 left. (I have turned migration off till i get fort to better shape, and made orc suspectible to traps, since i have military of 1 and militia of 3 )

Oh, and outpost liaison third to enter my fort by jumping of the cliff... He landed on river and was killed immendiatly:P And all my cats are covered in blood... Dunno where all cats find blood.

i've started on a 5x3 area instead of 6x6 (still get all the good stuff, although there are significantly less trees) and got my first wave of 10 immigrants, but i just can't get inspired. not at all happy with how the fort is turning out.

Is there a way to upgrade the map in the map archive or do i need to send in another one? alot happened since i added in the map

Will a chained GCS shoot webs, or does it need to be able to path to its target?
