Do dwarves even understand the concept of the period of day called twilight? Do they understand night time? It's permanent day in DF so far as we know.

Which is obviously done for gameplay purposes. Toady could bring in nighttime, but at the rate the game goes it would be lightdarklightdarklightdark. Which would be annoying.

Well, even if they understand night and day, they aren't familiar with discoballs or vampires, which twilight combines into one being. Nor are they familiar with the concept of 'Mary and Gary Stu'

Day and night cycles show up in adventure mode.

And Twilight should never be allowed to taint DF.  The day someone makes a Twilight mod . . . well, I won't want to be around that day.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

The Mote in Armok's Eye by Urist Niven and Korpek Pournelle, is a science fiction novel that was first published in 1074. The story is set in the distant future of Pournelle's CoDominium Fortverse, and charts the first contact between dwarvenkind and an elven species.

That's what DF needs, The gutbuster brigade.  Screw that elf and his cat. Thibbledorf Pwent is the real hero.

I believe all dwarves could use a copy of Urist Sedaris' When You Are Engulfed In Flames.

Urist McShakespeare is popular amongst the dwarves. His works are often full of madness, blood, venereal diseases and most importantly, noble killing!
