"My god, are these people idiots or what?" The Goblin tread through the flood water, wondering at the mental state of the seven goblins who had liberated this fortress. He had given them a damn mission two days ago, and it was yet to be done! They kept milling about, collapsing towers onto themselves or hurling stones at camels. And that Urist McGoblin Teeth! Made the settlers druggies! "Well, if they don't get this done soon, theres going to be penalties..." The Goblin thought darkly to himself. Then he watched as one of the former settlers, Shoruke, channeled into the magma pipe. He almost cried right there and then.

Blech! Attempt to make some gears. Gotta start with something simpler.

Also, could it be possible to create simpler parts and add them to a bigger machine for additional points to the ready gauge?

Hm... yeah I guess. Perhaps a point per mechanism, with more points if its better quality. I'll think about it.

If Shoruke attempts to fix the mistake he made, I shall ask around as to where the cave is.
If he does not, I will try to kill him.
Shoruke, attempt to fix the magma flood.

Digging DOWNWARDS, and magma cannot flow up. Thank Armok for that. I construct a magma smelter above the exposed magma, wary of Cheetar but not worried about the magma because THE FLOOD IS A LIE.

No, remember how removing the wall unleashed a magma flood to begin with? Well, heres the design of the pipe that fed that orignial flood.

FINE! Yeesh. I go and find water, to solidify the magma with.

I still figure your post made it clear I was digging down into open ground, as opposed to digging down into an adjacent wall somehow.

I engrave a picture in the wall glorifying the actions of our superiors. I may be anti-authoritan, but not stupid.
