Since Toady has updated the descriptions and added hair/beard growth, etc., I was looking for a specific fantasy drawing...So!
This is what's gonna happen to our dwarves, if there won't be a barber in the fortress!  :D

That game had some interesting innovations.  I'd never thought of sand or glass as elements before, and I've been intrigued by the idea ever since.
