I would certainly be interested in joining. A multiple worlds (kind of like the GURPS main campaign) might be nice because it gives everyone want they want because there can be post-apoc worlds and there can be fantasy worlds, and DF worlds and so on and such. If you like a world it is there and if you don't you'll move on soon enough.

...I've already offered to DM a session or two this weekend.  It's not going to become a long campaign or anything, but I'll try to hit some of the iconic D&D scenarios.  Pre-made characters will be available.  Going to have a maximum of six players, with preference given to those new to D&D.

I'd be happy to start organizing a mini-campaign this weekend, if you're handling the campaign and characters.

Also, in regards to a longer campaign, I wouldn't want a DF theme to be limiting. My philosophy as a GM is to make the world fit the players, rather than make the players fit the world. I'll have to mull the idea around until I can present something cohesive though.

--
On that note, who all is interested in said 4th Ed. minicampaign this weekend? We'll need to get interested folks together fairly quick in order to settle on a time and such.

Well, Cerej is designing this for new gamers, so you're in luck! ;D

The rules are actually pretty simple, and Cerej is making characters for you guys, so you don't have to worry about character-generation rules. Put simply, the DM (Cerej) presents the players (you) with fantasy type situations (Orc Sieges, Kidnapped Nobles, Stolen Artifacts, etc.), and you have to figure out how to go about solving the problems using your characters skills and abilities.

The most complicated part of the game is the combat system, which is actually pretty easy. It's like a board game; you move your character a certain number of squares on a map per turn, and can attack enemies, or call on special skills your character has learned depending on their class.

It'll be gone into more in-depth once the rest of the group gets together. Who else is interested in doing a weekend session?

I'm willing to give it a shot this weekend, but my hours are a bit long at the moment. If its fairly late, past 8PM, I could probably make it.

Edit: Forgot to mention. I played about 3 sessions of a 2E campaign before I got killed off for alternating between extremely good and horribly bad, and I've read the 3E core books.

Count me in. Be warned, I'm trying to get into D&D so I have no idea how to play. I played Neverwinter Nights 2 for a while but I couldn't really get the hang of it. Too many skills, too few skill points.

Anyway, if you could just PM me the rules and so how-to-play info, that'll be nice.

I'd like 4th edition myself.

1) There's no link to the rulebook, because it's, y'know, a book.  Like you buy in a store.

2) Here's a 4th ed character creator to play around with.

There are, of course, other ways of getting the books.  Since you can't get a proper copy by any realistic means anyway, you have my blessing on that.

I'd definitely join.
I have Fantasygrounds v1.05, but I can use anything else.
I don't mind what edition we use.

Not really, Aqizzar, that just means we'll have to search some more on web.

Okay, I got a question.
First of all, what setting it will be, second - what are the restrictions for the character.

Right, so are we making characters now, or later?
