It was mostly directed at Inaluct.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

I love how chill you are, Duke.
Somehow I'm getting hypocrisy vibes from this statement.  If you aren't chill, don't act like you are.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.

I don't claim to be. Being chill is Duke's thing.

Since we're now on the topic of out normal personalities, I'll just leave this here:

I'm generally very carefree and random, and normally I wouldn't even care that my style of play annoys Inaluct, but today has effing sucked, so I am rather pissed, and trying to avoid the built in response to hold my pinky down on the shift key UNTIL IT EXPLODES.

Actually, I wasn't being entirely serious back then. Now seems like a good time to say that.

I'm conformist, purist OCD.

I LIKE EVERYTHING TO BE EXACTLY, THE FRICKING, SAME.

(You should see me play with dominoes. Which I don't do often, as I have yet to find blank-white/black glass dominoes)

I'm bad for sticking with a template, so now I *LOOK* for irregularities to force me into new designs.

Nothing pisses me off more then getting a vein of silver/gold or platinum in the middle of my housing complex.

Cause I HAVE to chase the vein, and then I'll have to wall it off so it doesn't screw with my design.

But i also refuse to use reveal or anything... cause... well... thats cheating! :P

Best/Worst fort ever I dug down into my first stone layer right into a magnetite/platinum cluster...
"S'okay, is cool, I'll just dig down another layer... Into ANOTHER goddamn Magnetite/Platinum clsuter!?..."

Ruined my whole fort design, now my waterfall viewing dining room would be too far from my farm/kitchen area...

You see, booze is a parasite. It lives off dwarves and compels them to dig into the ground so as to create massive defences to protect it's self. It really shouldn't be called dwarf fortress, Booze fortress would make much more sense.

Improvise!

Make a 2-z-level tall dining room lined by very valuable floors and walls.

I stopped chasing veins. I realized I never run out of metal - I'm too careful with it. I just smooth platinum walls now.

I hollow out the entire mountain and rewall/floor everything with iron and copper. Someday I'll have a fort that lives long enough to complete Lady Liberty.

Well, I know that I (as a person obsessed with symmetry and making all of my room designs look visually pleasing) would probably be annoyed, like the OP, about this.

OTOH, I'd probably get over, think of something horribly fiendish to use the pit for, and just incorporate it into future designs.
