Oh, good point, I'm using mayday Mikes graphics, and will the stone's modded out break it?

Completely forgot about that, as I'm new to uploading worlds.

The world seed and the embark location will do, actually. Copy your master save, abandon fort, then rummage through the world to find your site. Post screens on your embark loc and your seed. Voila.

I have had no luck getting Reveal to work with D9.  I usually just copy the save file over to an older DF version, run reveal, research what I want, close it and play on my D9 from memory.

You should be able to gen this with the world gen parameters, seed, and altered raws (including rocks), so you don't necessarily need to upload it.

The one thing i find annoying with reveal is the lack of a function to easy remove sight of revealed tiles. I just want a brief look, not ten z-levels of visible rock that will forever ruin my fortress look.

Same reason I use it- to pick the biggest, underground, unmarred space to carve out my fortress.

So, there is no way to get the seed from this uploaded save game without altering all the files he did, right?

I wanna start the fortress!

On my main computer I actually have two seperate "installs" of dwarf fortress.  If I ever need to play around with reveal I copy one save over to both games, open reveal for one of them and then play the actual game with the other.  If I need to reference where the rock is it's pretty easy to just check and see where stuff will be.

Reaction files do not alter world-gen.  Additions to entities, creatures, bodies, armors, weapons, etc, will alter history.  Changes to matgloss will have effects on geography ranging from minor layer changes to the relocation of mountains, depending on the extent of the change.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

For more info... Changing how sedimentary layers spread will change the world gen. Changing the melting point for stones shouldn't. Making all the stones economic does require a re-gen, but it doesn't change how formations are made.
