Why? Build constructed floors/walls out over it. Put windows on the outside. Allow your dwarves to look out over the vast, infinite drop into the very heart of the earth.

Problem is constructed floors/walls can't be engraved.

I like your luck you had there. :D

Who cares about the hole? Make wooden catwalks inside it and carve single bedrooms into it's wall. It's atmospheric.

That's a nice-looking fortress.  A giant pit, next to a cave river, in the mountains? I bet some people would like that save file.

Some people would break into your house with a flash drive ready to obtain that file.

Not...that...I would do that or anything.

Don't do anything drastic just yet. It's just a brook.

Even if he did, file recovery might be possible if he's quick.  I forgot the exact details on how to do that, but I think it involves the "recycle bin."

Wait a minute... Yes!

Using my precise hacking skills, I can go into my recycle bin, and take out the files!

Now I just need to open the bin without habitually closing it.

Uploading now.

It has what you see there, and then magma about a screen and a half away.

I'm pretty sure it's untamed wilderness. And it has about... nothing other than obsidian/
