It would be my single goal in life to get a legendary health care dwarf with a yellow wound to his right leg.

And a hilarious American BRITISH Accent and a Hereditary Title for Wales...

Fixed.

You do know that Hugh Laurie is as British as the Queen?
(Other stuff)

Fixed.
He was also the prince of Wales in Black Adder.

You see, booze is a parasite. It lives off dwarves and compels them to dig into the ground so as to create massive defences to protect it's self. It really shouldn't be called dwarf fortress, Booze fortress would make much more sense.

"Yeah. My plan was to drop some kittens into the siege, and have my dwarves freefall into battle, landing on top of the kittens. The plan was kinda dumb though because the kittens were standing on grates, and the goblins killed them with arrows just as I was releasing the freefalling dwarves. So the dwarves weren't able to land on kittens and just fell and died."

I really do look forward to health care becoming more then a random dwarf walking up and cramming food and water down the wounded's throat. I would be most pleased if I could make *Spider silk Bandage* and "This is a stack of ten pure alcohol" for disinfecting. Actually have a nurse/doctor profession added, turning the broken/gashed leg wounds from "Sit in bed for three or four years" To a few months or just short of a year.

My first exposure to Hugh Laurie, was in vacant alley in London. j/k

It was on the TV adaptation of Wooster and Jeeves(also starred Stephen Fry).
I also liked their sketch commedy show quite a bit.

That's what DF needs, The gutbuster brigade.  Screw that elf and his cat. Thibbledorf Pwent is the real hero.

I can imagine a dwarfy hospital: A magmafall powering an HFS magmawheel that is connected to an automatic amputation machine in a large room where the walls and floors are engraved with images of dwarfs burning. ;D

Supposedly obsidian scalpels are superior to steel ones. I can see an obsidian making tank to fuel the scalpel industry in DF.

Jeeves and Wooster, you mean.

Also, I don't think that the Prince Regent has ever possessed anything that could be called a Welsh accent, despite being the Prince of Wales.

Also, being "as British as the Queen" ain't saying much. Technically, the Windsors are a British branch of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Before the Saxe-Coburgs, the British Royal Family were from another German house, that of Hanover.
The British Royal Family haven't been "British", as such, for a very long time (although, then again, neither have many Britons been exclusively "British")

Wow... Theme Hospital flashback...

Also, just because someone's the Prince of Wales doesn;t mean they're actually welsh, or spend any time there, etc etc.

because that's not the dwarven way. Could you make more statues of Urist instead of an impossibly large one chiseled out of the mountain? Sure, you could. If you want to be called a ninny elf by all your friends.

For the next version, dwarves use soap for cleaning, not alcohol.  But you're basically getting your wish.  Along with bandages, Toady has also implemented splints, crutches, plaster casts, sutures (a.k.a. stitches), and traction benches.  There are also more specific medical skills and professions, along with a Chief Physician position that you can appoint a dwarf to.
